Wonders of Wildlife is hiring an Education Assistant Manager to join our team. This manager will help create educational conservation programs, manage staff, and continue our mission of connecting guests with nature. This new hire will preferably have a Bachelor's degree in education, conservation, or similar and 5 years' experience in program development. Assistant managers also work together to interview, hire, and train new staff and interns.

  • The education department gets to create programs for guests, school groups, camps, and more.
  • All education department staff work with animal care teams to learn how to handle and present a variety of mammals, birds, reptiles, and amphibians.

A day in the life of an Education Assistant Manager
  • Education Assistant Managers start their day by setting the tone for a collaborative work environment.
  • They review the day's tasks, highlight objectives for staff, ensure curriculum aligns with the latest educational standards, and incorporate innovative teaching methodologies.
  • Education Assistant Managers work together to interview, hire, and train education staff, volunteers, and interns. This manager will be a primary for scheduling staff, assigning projects, and oversee their day-to-day tasks. Invest time mentoring staff, providing constructive feedback on programs, and leading by example to create a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.

Experience Required
  • At least 5 years’ experience in developing and delivering conservation, biological science-based programs for children and adults and at least one-year of supervisory experience -1 year of experience working with live animals
