The New England Aquarium's Anderson Cabot Center is looking for a marine mammal photo-identification expert to help lead a dedicated team at the New England Aquarium working to understand and protect the North Atlantic right whale.
- After over 40 years of managing the catalog for this species, we now know almost every individual left alive.
- The data in the catalog serve as the cornerstone of what we know about this species; those data are used to track the population size, reproduction, health, and anthropogenic injuries.
- The Aquarium currently has many departments working on the issues right whales face and the integration of those efforts amplifies the impact of our work.
