Payables/Payroll Specialist

The Tennessee Aquarium is searching for a Payables/Payroll Specialist to perform accounting and administrative tasks related to processing accounts payable and payroll.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process invoices ensuring proper approval, accurate coding, and entry into accounting system.
  • Issue accurate and timely payments.
  • Interact with vendors and employees to investigate and resolve issues or questions regarding payables.
  • Responsible for reviewing and recording ACH payments made to vendors.
  • Record all purchase card activity. Work with purchase card holders to ensure receipts are turned in and purchases are coded correctly.
  • Act as a backup for Tennessee Aquarium, Creative Discovery Museum & Hunter Museum of American Art payroll.
  • Prepare and submit sales tax returns monthly.
  • Process yearly 1099's for Tennessee Aquarium, Creative Discovery Museum & Hunter Museum of American Art.
  • In addition to the responsibilities listed, the Payables/Payroll Specialist will assist with other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Strong computer program knowledge, especially with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience with UKG payroll software & Procurify purchase order software preferred.
  • Ability to operate a 10-key calculator.
  • High school diploma required.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in a related field preferred.
  • Full-time, hourly ($18.35/hour)
  • All submissions must be received by April 11, 2024.
