The Penguin Trainer 1 provides the highest standard of animal care and prioritizes the welfare of New England Aquarium (NEAQ)'s animal collection. The responsibilities of this position include maintenance of all assigned exhibits and support areas (including off-site facilities) and providing proper husbandry, training, and enrichment for our colony of African penguins and Southern rockhopper penguins.
- This is a full-time regular position offering a comprehensive benefits package.
- The schedule will be four 10-hour days, and the shifts will be 7a – 6p EST.
- Work must be conducted on-site.
- The weekly schedule will alternate biweekly between a Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday schedule, and a Sunday, Monday, Friday, Saturday schedule.
- This position may require work on weekends, as well as occasional coverage on holidays, nights, and emergency response at all hours.
