Job Summary:
The Monterey Bay Aquarium Internship Program (MBAIP) is a rich learning resource for interns and externs, enabling them to partner with the Aquarium in pursuit of our shared DEIA objectives and take our mission to the next level. The MBAIP will provide eligible college, undergraduate, and graduate students with meaningful work experience under the direction of an Aquarium mentor. The MBAIP is outcomes-based, requiring a project report at the conclusion of the program, further documenting the participants' growth along their developmental pathway.
The Video Production Internship at the Monterey Bay Aquarium provides students an opportunity to gain experience in all phases of the video production process. The intern will work collaboratively with the Aquarium's Film & Video team on video productions for aquarium exhibitions and social media.
The student will receive hands-on experience with RED digital cinema cameras. They will support underwater and drone video operations and set up lighting equipment. This position will also support our post production team - editing 4K video using Avid Media Composer, logging, transcribing, color correcting, and encoding footage as needed. College credit may also be available. Please refer to your College/University's student services division.

Absolutely Required Skills / Knowledge / Ability / Experience or Education:
- At least 18 years of age
- Current undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited college or university. Must be a student during the term immediately preceding the internship or within one year post-graduation.
- Must be in good academic standing
- Must provide a cover letter and a minimum of 2 letters of recommendation from college/university professors or faculty staff.
Desired Skills / Knowledge / Ability / Experience or Education:
- Interest in marine life
- Experience operating video cameras
- Experience with video editing software
- Attention to detail
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
This Internship Program is a paid internship opportunity. Pay rate of $18.00 USD per hour.
College credit may also be available. Please refer to your College/University's student services division.

Location/Hours for Internship:
Internship will be from September - December, 24 hours per week. This is an onsite role with the expectation to be onsite Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
