MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops and executes marketing email campaigns supporting General Admission, Membership, and Sales initiatives including campaign development, scheduling, deployment, and reporting.
  • Manages website content through the Wrike project management system including creation and updates for ticket promotions, festivals and events, membership events, sales initiatives, guest experience offerings, revenue centers, and operating hours.
  • Oversees digital marketing support including Meta advertising coordination, creation of Facebook events, and development of promotional copywriting across marketing campaigns.
  • Supports marketing campaign planning through participation in weekly production meetings, maintain organized campaign files, and retrieving historical marketing assets as needed.
  • Serves as Marketing representative on the Festivals Committee and supports the planning and execution of seasonal festivals and promotional activations.
  • Manages and executes the sponsorship program end to end, including maintaining partnership pipelines, assisting with proposal development, coordinating facility tours, ensuring fulfillment of contractual benefits, tracking and documenting activations, supporting sponsored events and tabling opportunities, preparing end of year summaries, and overseeing invoicing and payment tracking for all sponsorship agreements.
  • Oversees Kroger ticket partnerships and related tracking and reporting.
  • Develops promotional signage messaging, manages legal contesting requirements, and coordinates production of flyers, handouts, and marketing materials for events and promotions.
  • Coordinates marketing media production including trafficking creative assets to external agencies, supporting filming planning, and managing additional promotional asset needs such as ad sizes and campaign copy.
  • Manages marketing promotional calendar updates and coordinates marketing timelines across departments.
  • Coordinates external filming requests and supports public relations media filming and marketing production needs.
  • Supports cross functional marketing initiatives, provides project support to the Sales team, and leads special marketing projects as assigned by the Marketing Director.
  • Maintains open communication with Aquarium leadership regarding marketing initiatives, promotions, and implementation updates.
  • Manages and monitors the marketing department budget including expense tracking, unbudgeted expense analysis and forecasting, purchase order creation, and coordination of vendor invoices and payments for marketing and capital projects.
  • Oversees marketing operational needs including office supply inventory, brochure ordering and distribution through ad-rack partners, and management of co-promotion and partnership opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Marketing Director.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of general marketing experience preferably in hospitality or related field.
  • Marketing degree preferred.
  • Must have strong public speaking skills.
  • Must read, write, and speak the English language (knowledge of other languages a plus).
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule which may include weekends and holidays. Evening availability is required.
  • Knowledge of marine life a plus.

 

PHYSICAL AND MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Successful completion of pre-employment background check.
  • No history of allergy related to animals or plants, which might interfere with ability to work
  • Ability to remain on feet for long periods of time, climb stairs, bend and stoop
  • Physical strength, including the ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Physical strength, push or pull up to 50 pounds
